Full of meaning and local inspiration
Our Varna Printed Silk Scarf is full of vibrant colours and joyful folk-inspired figures. It is based on 19th Century floral motifs from North-East Bulgaria.
A souvenir you can wear – beautifully packaged and gift-ready
Our printed silk scarfs are an accessory and a souvenir all rolled into one. They make a wonderful gift from the Balkans. That is why we package each piece in an elegant gift box and include a bilingual booklet.
Our source of inspiration is Balkan textile heritage
We visit museums, study ethnographic books and explore private collections in order to gather the most striking textile designs. We dive deep into research and dig out a wealth of shapes and colours that are worth sharing with the world.
Being Bulgarian, we are mostly inspired by local folklore. For example, we discovered this particular pattern in “Bulgarian National Embroideries”, a book by E. Todorova.
We believe that good design should contribute and not merely “copy-and-paste”. No matter how far we go, we always point out and respect our sources.
Made in Europe
Our printed silk scarves are made in a family-owned Greek mill. Its proximity and size helps us ensure quality and conscious production. Our partners are experts in weaving and printing. In order to make our pieces, they import high quality raw silk thread from China, weave the silk fabric locally and print with certified non-toxic Dupont dyes. They finish each scarf with fine hand-rolled edges.
